Season Description:

Join us for a very special treat as we present a program from two of the great opera composers ever to live.  The comic genius of Mozart sparkles in The Impresario, and few of Puccini's scores have more soaring or profound music than Suor Angelica.  Ryan Murray, Music Director for Townsend Opera, guest conducts this very special double-bill production.

"Hallelujah!" is usually the first word that comes to mind when you hear mention of Handel's Messiah.  Now hear this and other glorious tunes from this timeless score as you've never experienced them before.  Music Director Brian Onderdonk and Center Stage Opera's top stars take the stage with the Center Stage Opera Orchestra to present this work with a unique operatic depth not often heard, making for an evening you will certainly not want to miss!

It's a classic story straight out of any 1980's teen movie - unpopular guy likes the popular girl, popular girl likes the popular guy, and so the unpopular guy goes to whatever lengths necessary to win the girl's heart.  What most people don't realize is that Donizetti was telling this same story 150 years ago in his timeless opera The Elixir of Love!  In a remount of Artistic Director Dylan F. Thomas' widely acclaimed and popular re-setting of this beloved masterpiece, Center Stage Opera takes you back to the 80's to tell you the story of Nemorino and Adina like you've never seen it before!
